Treble Lands

I reached the place which was given the name Treble Lands by the ancients and the place didn't fail to justify its name. As soon as I went pass the sign board which looked more of a musical sheet than a sign board,  I saw a white gate which of course looked like two harps standing opposite to each other resting on jet black guitars which were surrounded by the walls at either side. Was I hallucinating or the walls were really made up of the sounds, the booms, and the echos on one side and the moans, the thunders and the whispers on the other. I hit myself hard enough which gave me a bump on my head rather than waking me up. No I didn't wake up, I wasn't dreaming all this, not even a dream in a dream. All this was happening for real. I was sitting on a white shining rock outside for some time when I saw a herd of some animals that were faintly visible, rushing towards me or some thing which was in my direction, I got up and made my way towards the huge gate, I searched for the lock not finding it, I gave the door a slight push. It opened. No one was sitting there, may be there wasn't a need here I thought.

Once inside, the gates made a calming sound while closing themselves making the same shape which I saw earlier. I started to scan the lands up and down, left and right, in all the directions possible and all I could see was the color white. The land was filled with mist. It was as if the clouds had come down to rest for a day. Suddenly from somewhere heavy winds gushed towards the place where I was standing. The mist decided to stick with the wind and it went away with it.

The lands finally revealed themselves, my eyes were in a state of awe. Their were leagues and leagues  of  picturesque landscapes. The land was covered with thick forests and strange flowers and cold rivers and lakes and snow capped mountains and glimmering waterfalls. Strangely, it was not at all what I thought when I entered that gate. It should have been a land filled with musical instruments. Homes and  animals shaped according to different notes or instruments. The land was filled with music, but it was the music of nature.

I slipped my hands into the coat pocket to get a Marlboro stick, but my hands felt something else. It was like a small wooden box. I carefully removed the box and stared at it. I had some work to do...
